Privacy
Privacy
Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and builds no profile of you. It records aggregated page views so we can tell whether anyone is reading.
Who is responsible
This website is operated by Maxim Stykow. Provenant itself is an independent, non-commercial open-source project built by several contributors. For any question about this site or the data described here, write to hello@getprovenant.dev.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, uses no local storage, and does not fingerprint your browser or track you across sites. There is therefore no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to storing.
What is recorded is aggregated and not tied to an identity: the page visited, the referring page, an approximate country, browser and operating system family, and page-performance timings. As with any request to any server, Cloudflare receives your IP address as an unavoidable part of delivering the request and uses it to derive the approximate country; it is not used to build a profile of you, and no IP addresses are stored by this project. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in understanding aggregate usage of an open-source project's website.
Hosting
The site is served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub processes connection data — including your IP address — in order to deliver pages and to protect the service against abuse. This project has no access to those logs. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Mail sent to addresses at this domain is delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to a personal mailbox. Your message and address are processed only to read and answer it. Nothing is added to a mailing list, and no newsletter exists.
What this site does not do
- No tracking or advertising cookies — in fact, no cookies at all
- No advertising networks, no ad personalisation, no data sold or shared for advertising
- No cross-site tracking, no browser fingerprinting, no user profiles
- No accounts, no logins, no newsletter, no embedded social-media widgets
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, and you may complain to a supervisory authority. In practice this project stores no personal data about visitors, so there is usually nothing to disclose or delete — but if you would like to ask, or object to the aggregated analytics described above, write to hello@getprovenant.dev and we will respond.
This page describes the website at getprovenant.dev. The Provenant software collects nothing and sends nothing: it performs static analysis offline, executes neither scanned code nor package-manager code, and makes no network requests during a scan.
